It helps me just to immerse myself in what I know to be 100% real. I do something that I love or I reach out and talk to someone that keeps me grounded.
It all feels incredibly real. Scary real. Sometimes it even has lingering physical effects which have to be psychosomatic, but physical and emotional pain alike have translated for me, and it can be...excruciating. I don't think denying it helps. Sometimes you just have to let things hurt for them to heal.
