Who: Robin and Fiona Where: His place When: 3/30 evening/night What: Robin's in denial about his youngest growing up/he's drunk/he likes having Fiona around The moment Robin found out from Avi that she was pregnant he felt a pit in his stomach. Flashes of his own youth being passed by him because of how he had started a family so young washed over him. He didn't regret at all the three beautiful children he had. Nor did he regret stepping up and being a man and taking responsibility for his actions. He did however know that as a youth he missed out on many opportunities because of the very hard responsibility that came with being a parent and a parent at such a young age. His pit stomach fear wasn't so much for regret on behalf of his lovely little Avi but was for the thought that she might have to suffer the burden of parenthood too soon. It was every parent's dream and wish to want more for their children than what they had and for their lives to be easier and better.
Robin's rational side however hadn't quite settled into reality quite yet. While he conversed with Avi was he was texting Fiona and fixing himself a drink, and another, and another. In the mists of feeling overwhelmed by his youngest daughter's choice he was also now being faced with his own mortality. There was nothing like the idea of a new life, a baby, to make you think of just how old you were. It wasn't just Avi's happiness that he was concerned about it was his own with life. The more he drank the more he realized he was lonely. He wasn't sure at what point he had invited Fiona over. It felt as if no time had passed when he had thought he heard her voice. He was sat in his living room on his couch with a full glass of whisky, in his boxers, and an open robe.
