Seifer was already questioning both the wisdom of this whole plan and the fact that he'd knowingly stopped by the cafeteria to get something into his stomach beforehand. It had been a long day, the pain in his arm now leaving him as nothing more than a verbal presence among his students, the brace Fujin had gotten for him in town a clear reminder as to why. Still, the kids were being good sports about the whole thing, and Solace had stepped this morning to take on the more physical aspect of his job. His nerves were still wracking uncontrollably in waves as the date of the procedure grew closer, but he just kept reminding himself that this was going to fix his damn limb. Either that or they'd gut him while he was out.
Then the promise of a ride in the Ragnarok came, like dangling a carrot in front of a starving bunny rabbit. He'd needed a distraction, and damn if this wasn't the best one that could have come along. His walk from the cafeteria to the parking lot allowed him to finish off more than half of his burger, though all eating subsided despite the large mouthful puffing out his cheeks when he saw Selphie. His eyes went from her slippers, to what remained of his own dinner, then back to her slippers as he finally chewed and swallowed. The fact that Selphie would even be seen in the halls dressed like that wasn't a surprise to him, but how the hell was she supposed to drive anything?
Still, as he moved closer he couldn't help the wave of cheekiness, purposefully and noisily scarfing down the last of his cheeseburger while eying Selphie pointedly. His expression read a childish 'I'm eating your burger-shoes offspring' before the entirety of the item disappeared into a satisfied grin merged with chipmunk cheeks and the roll of a chewing jaw.
