Extra riot police armed with shields and batons were called in Deling as the escalating crisis has led the army to intervene. "I'm afraid we're sending 200 officers to secure the city." Sgt Stillwater of the DCPD said in a statement.

President ShinRa's silence in the face of the violent riots has only served to provoke protesters. Earlier, the embattled president had vehemently denied the changes of having orchestrated the monster attacks at the electric company's headquarters as well as his involvement with the missing girls. Violent protests has taken its toll in Galbadian's golden city and economic prospects are feared to suffer some more as anti-government and ShinRa riots show no signs of breaking up. The city's famed Shopping Arcade and major banks have been closed for 2 days, the full extent of the damage are still undetermined. "The violence is scaring off tourists and customers, rattling investors and denting Deling's reputation as a robust commercial district."
JUST IN: Esthar not intervening in Deling riots
Esthar presidential secretary and spokesperson, Kiros Seagull reiterated that Esthar will not be involved in Deling's political and power crisis. "That said, the president is deeply concerned about the events transpiring in the city." It is noted that both President Laguna Loire and Seagull served in the Galbadian army for a time. As for whether they are accepting asylum seekers following reports of ShinRa executives fleeing Deling, Seagull gave a more vague response. "The president is very clear about safeguarding the human rights of all refugees and asylum seekers who reach our borders. All applications are reviewed to ensure they comply with our conditions, criminal background is among them."
