By the clinic's estimate, and with a case like Gunnar's, the man would require a full three weeks of rest to heal his knee properly. As much as he wanted to respect their decision, though, it was something that the former monster hunter just couldn't sit well on. Even when he was younger, he could never wait for an injury to completely mend itself before he would be moving about. In his faulty logic -- although it certainly didn't seem that way to him -- it was better to get used to the pain and to train the body to move with it. In the wilderness, it was no use treating oneself like a baby. Wait a little longer and your bones and muscles were bound to get weak.
That was why he was now half-limping his way around the stage which he didn't really think was necessary but no one seemed to be willing to move it out, anyway. Soon, men in colored vests -- something he didn't recognize were Super Balmart shades -- were raising seats onto the raised platform and setting up a mic.
"No, no, that's not really necessary..." But hobbling about, Gunnar couldn't chase after the fitter men who fitted the community hall with more chairs and more tables for the food and other necessities. But maybe it would be better that way, though.
Somehow, people just kept coming in...
"Hooo boy," Gunnar whistled, scratching his head as he watched men and women alike -- fathers, mothers, uncles, grandmothers, some with their children in tow which he didn't really recommend but whatever, it was a known fact that people didn't read -- find their seats and settle themselves down. Turns out he shouldn't have been worried about the weak response...
That didn't mean he prepared for a huge interest, though!
