Re: Rinoa and OPEN - 10:45ish
Those had been simpler days. Then it was no question whether or not they'd be going to a party like this, but when they'd arrive, together. How she could get him to loosen up a bit, without needing the scotch to help. And sure, there were times when she got a little out of hand, but she'd always had fun, but more than that, she'd always gone back with him at the end of the night. Rinoa had never said it, but that was her favorite part. Now this left her feeling a bit hollow, and she tried to fight it.
While Squall left to grab her a drink - which he didn't have to do, but Rinoa appreciated the thought anyway - she went to check on Angelo. The dog raised her head to look at her, blinking sleepily, as if to say, Mom, go away, five more minutes! Angelo, it seemed, could sleep anywhere. Rinoa petted her for a minute, smoothing down her fur, before seeing Squall come back.
"Hey now," she said, "at least I admit to being a lightweight. I refuse to let anyone talk me into doing shots while I'm here. Never again." He was teasing her and it was lovely and holy shit stop thinking Rinoa. "Was that Irvine? I think that was Irvine. That night is still kind of a blur." She took a sip. "Also, thank you for this." She gestured to the water.
