Re: Rinoa and OPEN - 10:45ish
Yeah, the "asshole" part was kind of implied, but Rinoa wasn't here to start a fight. In accepting Quistis's invitation, she'd known that it was a 50-50 chance that Squall would be here. It wasn't like she was avoiding this conversation, because how were either of them supposed to move on if they weren't even able to talk to each other? It wasn't healthy for either of them, and she knew that. And if Rinoa was being honest with herself, there was a part of her - a large part, depending on the day - that would always love him. If she wanted any sort of relationship with him now, they had to start somewhere.
Those first few months without him had been hell, but she'd gotten through. She focused on work. She did what she needed to. And Rinoa sure as hell wasn't going to tell him that she'd spent the last eight years crying over him, or that she hadn't dated anyone else since him, she didn't work like that. "I'm - okay," she said instead, shrugging. "Went back to Timber, been working on conservation efforts with the Forest Owls." As she spoke, she toyed with her engagement ring, slipping it onto the tip of one finger and back off again. "I'm staying in Balamb for a bit right now." Another pause, another sip of her wine. "So. Headmaster, huh? How's that going?"
