A Midsummer Night's Dream (National Theatre version) - Bottom/Oberon
At dawn Bottom wakes at the heart of Oberon’s grotto, there are bright golden lights of tinker-bells shimmering around him and the light filtering through the trees is pure and warm. He lets out a huge yawn and stretches out to his tipsiest toes.
Oberon’s head is resting on his chest and the long, lithe body of the fairy king flexes alongside him. Oberon raises himself to look down at Bottom. “Your mind now is as clear as the dawn’s light,” he says, “all trace of ensorcellement has departed from thine eyes. So tell me, beloved Bottom, will you stay?”
