When they were young--how long ago that seems now--Peter Ashe was one of their most vocal advocates, and dearest friends. He understood that piracy was a symptom of the malaise in the colonial ports, not its cause. He had stood up for them in Parliament, despite overwhelming odds. He had welcomed them into his home, into his family. He's the only person who can help now, if they are to escape Nassau.
"Can we trust him?" James asks.
