Just wanted to warn everybody that some of our prompts and banners might be unintentional triggers. If so, we're sorry. We know there's some serious shit going down in the world right now, and we don't take that lightly. Although our prompts are inspired by real-life events, our banners aren't meant to imply any connection to the real-world pandemic. It's just that our way of dealing with everything is to write it out. When life gives you lemons, whip up a lemon drop cocktail, amirite?

While they’re in lockdown, Simon lives at the sick bay. That’s no exaggeration; he sleeps on a cot, for the two hours a day he’s not running tests, processing samples, and going through medical databases with a speed that makes Jayne dizzy just to watch.

River, off pilot’s duty with Serenity’s engine down, observes her brother with clinical interest. “Nearing capacity,” she tells Jayne.

Girl’s a pain, but she’s usually right. “C’mon, Doc. Naptime.”

Simon doesn’t even look up. “I have to find the infection vector.”

“Uh-huh. Later.” Jayne doesn’t argue. He simply picks Simon up and carries him off.
