    Time Event
    6:54a
    HOUR 2: Community
The next prompt is about celebrating our... and... do I really have to read this, Amy?

OK, she says I do. So the next prompt is about celebrating our community and lifting each other up. So you'd better get to writing. Don't make me put down Arlo and come after you.

    Wait a minute...

    Okay, James, whatever.
    8:35a
    Hour 4: Infectious
Terry has an important announcement that the organizers want him to read.

    Terry!

    Sorry.

    (Ahem.)

Just wanted to warn everybody that some of our prompts and banners might be unintentional triggers. If so, we're sorry. We know there's some serious shit going down in the world right now, and we don't take that lightly. Although our prompts are inspired by real-life events, our banners aren't meant to imply any connection to the real-world pandemic. It's just that our way of dealing with everything is to write it out. When life gives you lemons, whip up a lemon drop cocktail, amirite?

That said, on to our next prompt.

    10:49a
    Hour 6: CURVE
So Many Drabbles! You people are doing this stay-at-home thing right!

Rosa drew our next prompt for us.

Hm. I think she might need some help with that.

    Nice job, mum!

Hm, is this post getting a bit gratuitous?

    Let's bring it on back!
    12:49p
    Prompt 8: Flatten
Since we've done curves, it looks like we should balance that with...

OK, um, thanks, Rosa. Here's your prompt...

And for a different kind of flattening...

    2:59p
    Hour 10: Fever
Does it seem like an hour lasts 15 minutes now? Just me?

Is someone always sick in Jane Austen's novels?

I always look like this when I'm feverish. *nod*

    4:59p
    Hour 12: Spread
    HALFWAY THROUGH!!!

The mods wanted me to make it clear that when they suggested this prompt, they weren't thinking of all the different meanings it had. There's the obvious disease-related one...

But then there's also when you lay out a spread for your friends and family...

And the strangely soothing spreading of, um, spreads...

    There's also spreading your legs...

(I don't think that's what that means, guys.)

Oh, and the mods insisted on using this one.

So feel free to write any interpretation of "spread" that you can come up with!
    7:00p
    Hour 14: Isolation
And now we come to Hour 14. Somehow. It feels like it's been maybe 45 minutes all told, so I don't know how time works. But I do know that you're all amazing!

    And the prompt is...

Here's some good advice for us all.

    In other words,

And finally, the theme song for 2020:

    9:02p
    Hour 16: Hoarding
It's getting quiet in here. Anybody around? *pokepoke*

Well, never mind. Smaug never sleeps.

Um, except yeah he does. Like, all the time. Rosa, have you even seen The Hobbit?

    I guess that's a no...

    10:11p
Drabble Day 2020 - Welcome, Quarantine Protocol, Assistants, Time Zones & Drabbling Rules!

Please wash or sanitise your hands before you enter. )

    Current Mood: excited
    10:56p
    Hour 18: Test
THIS IS A TEST OF YOUR EMERGENCY DRABBLING SYSTEM. IF THIS WERE AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY, YOU WOULD PROBABLY NOT BE ONLINE OR EVEN HAVE THE INTERNET. SINCE THIS IS ONLY A TEST, YOU CAN CARRY ON DRABBLING AS IF THE REST OF THE WORLD IS NOT EVEN THERE AND THE U.S. PRESIDENT IS NOT DOING MALICIOUS THINGS TO THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD AND THERE IS NO PANDEMIC AND EVERYTHING IS JUST FINE. AND NOW, PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED DRABBLING.
