In the early morning hours, a simple note had found its way into the hands of Silk herself, written on old-fashioned parchment. The handwriting was neat, the message succinct, but the words written with a polite flourish.
To inspire expediency of the request - as well as engender a sense of good cheer, camaraderie and shared community - there was enough money that came attached for the company of one of her courtesans for several hours.
A specific courtesan in particular.
The monies were kept, the parchment tucked away and saved, somewhere. And, the message was given.
By the late afternoon, in the heart of one of the Silver City's parks, there was a man who sat down on a bench, enjoying a small bowl of ice cream. A cooler, with a blue body and a white top, was next to the man.
Brother Thomas Good was his name, and at the moment, reading was his game. In one hand, was a paperback novel of questionable literary quality; but, there was a small, amused smile on his face. In the other hand, was a disposable spoon, already laden with the next mouthful of the delicious treat.
And, as the sounds of the park - the fauna amongst the flora - the distant voices of those walking to and fro, the wind rustling through the trees and bushes, all was mostly right with the world.
It required only one more person, for the moment.
