She managed another smile for him, trying to seem brave even though, truthfully, she was afraid to go out at all. "We'll be safe," she promised. "I was glad when they offered to come. I'll feel better with them around," she admitted, taking the gun. "Is the safety on? Um, will you show me where it is? Pulling a trigger I can manage, the reason I had trouble before was I couldn't tell if the safety was on or not." She blushed slightly, embarrassed. It was better to ask and be certain than to find out she was wrong when there was trouble, though.
"Thank you so much. I'm sure it'll mean a lot to him too." She hesitated slightly... She hadn't exactly told Erin that she was planning on going out this afternoon. Though, the only reason she should have was because she was supposed to feed him, right? She'd made sure he'd be taken care of, and she'd be back by dinner time. There would be no reason for him to worry, and she had promised to find some of the things she was looking for to him specifically.
