Alex thought about saying some snarky comment about already mentioning that the hotel was on a corner but he decided just to keep his mouth shut about it. "Brush Street is what we're looking for," he said as if he could read Neil's mind. "Could be two blocks then yeah... west."
"Sidewalks would probably be all right," he agreed and kept his pace even with Neil. "As long as we don't make a great deal more noise than we already are, running isn't a bad idea either. I have quite a bit of ammo actually, but I'd rather not have to use a lot of it. I think the best way to do this is to run until we get to an intersection, that is where we should probably use more caution. Make sure there are no monsters down the streets and if there are, use the vehicles as our cover until we get across then run to the next one. We keep that up until we get to the hotel. It's too much of a risk to just run through them blindly."
Without allowing anymore debate on the subject, unless they wanted to at a run, Alex set off at an easy jog. He was testing the noise factor of the shoes hitting the pavement along with the contents of his bag shuffling about and found the right pace so that it wouldn't be incredibly noisy and attract unwanted attention. This method of travel was perhaps a bit more dangerous than walking, as it seemed to require an even higher level of alertness to make sure no monsters were about.
He slowed down as he came to the first intersection and stopped to peek around the corner to check for monsters then looked down the other way quickly before giving the others the okay before darting across the street and heading down to the next intersection. Checking the sign, he was relieved to see that it was Brush street so he made a motion for them to turn right after he checked yet again for monsters. They seemed to be in luck so far, which seemed a bit odd considering they were out a bit more than usual, but who was he to complain?
Finally they had come to the intersection the hotel rested on and Alex stopped to lean against the side of a building to catch his breath, he swore his bag had to weigh a hundred pounds. He was definitely feeling the effects of not having exercised in awhile. "There it is," he said to the others and pointed at it. "I just...need a minute.
