"LaFayette," Alex repeated and quirked his head as he tried to grasp a memory of the street name. "That could be the one, yeah." He took another look around and some of the buildings began to look familiar now. "It's probably the closest."
He had nearly forgotten about the spike which he still held in one hand, wrapped tightly in a handkerchief. As tempting as it was to take a closer look at it, Alex decided to put it in his bag instead so he could help keep an eye out for the hotel and more monsters.
He tried to focus more on possible shelter and less on Reiko but it was difficult, especially considering the thought that she might just stick around for a long time. Knowing his luck, if they did find other survivors, they'd all be women. In which case, he'd rather try his luck with the monsters. Comparably they weren't that much different, considering he'd been nearly killed by a woman not so long ago and today by a monster.
