Alex ignored the woman and kept his focus on the monster which he would rather face at this moment, the former being a whole different ballgame he didn't have a particular interest in playing. He was a bit dumbfounded at how the odd spikes had somehow lodged themselves into the mouth and jaw of the creature and even though he had felt pain in his arms, he had no idea the spikes came from him.
The alarm had also startled Alex and he reached for the gun he had forgotten was lost when the monster had first found him. Blast. He saw the man, thinking him both insane and a saint. He would buy him enough time to retrieve his rifle, which he had buried underneath his bag in his haste to get away from the accursed creature.
He glanced quickly at the woman who was gesturing toward a car and he swallowed a lump that had formed in his throat from the thought of taking refuge with her behind in. Why couldn't his phobia had died along with the majority of Detroit's population...or the entire world for that matter? Focusing his gaze back on the monster, he was relieved to find that it had taken the bait. Its attention was now on the offending car and with a snarl it started making its way toward it and the man behind it. Once its back had turned on them, he looked at the woman and jerked his head toward the car, hoping that she'd take the hint to head for it first.
