Re: Near the edge of the roof
With his best good-cop smile, Officer Krispie swept the girl in the handcuffs a magnificent bow and then winked at her while adjusting his bow tie like Charlie Chaplin. Once she was free of Officer Blubberbuss' grasp, he grabbed her hand and gently placed a kiss on the backs of her knuckles. "You have been absolutely ee-ssential in our in-vester-gation, ma'am," he said. "Please enjoy the rest of the party, knowing that Vegas is one step closer to being okey-dokey again, all thanks to you."
He whirled on his heel with Sadie in tow, taking her hand and waltzing her in the direction of the dance floor with little regard for the partying hordes that surrounded them. He was Jonah once again, whatever that meant - but it was really him. The Joker seemed to approve of his antics and was mostly silent, save the occasional chuckle or snort inside his head.
"I am extremely proud. Come on," he said, his fake Southern accent having suddenly vanished. He spoke loud enough to be heard over the music, leaning in toward Sadie's ear. "Let's go hijack the music, yeah? I've been practicing that dance number for hours."
