"I wasn't real keen on minding," Jules admitted, almost verifying he'd been way too young to be near a bar back then, and way too young to be anywhere near a dick that was older than him. He heard the question too, and he laughed, all youth and lack of concern and something like the south in the sound. "Oh, honey, you don't remember a damn thing, do you?" he asked, reaching for a champagne flute as it passed by on a high serving plate. "I didn't remember either," he whispered, leaning close to be heard over the pulsing music, "not until Hunter went bringing it all back."
"If you agreed to let him be you gone fool since I saw you last," Jules said. "Plain as day the boy's holding a torch, or he wouldn't be fussing near as loud as he is."
