Theo frowned and watched Nikolai carefully after he admitted to not even knowing what day it was. He wished there was something he could do to help ease the man's pain but there was nothing. It was unfortunate in every sense of the word, but that was the truth of it. "I understand, Mr. Skalov. It's okay. We're doing our best. I've even drawn up some additions to security for your villa once you're ready to come back," he replied, leaving off the question of whether or not Nikolai would even be coming back.
The admission about Jaime surprised him but he was glad that at least there was someone who knew what happened. "Good, that's good, Nikolai," he reassured the man lying in front of him. "When he's talking to you again, or the next time he's through the door, have him get in touch with me over the journals, okay?" He stood then and paused. He knew he should probably add something reassuring, possibly even admit to being Ned, but he was advised against doing so by the very man himself. "I hope you feel better soon. We'll get to the bottom of this, I promise." And that was a promise he intended to keep.
