Iris followed Gus' babble easily, experience giving her the ability to translate the thoughts through the soft lisp. Talk about Wren was normal, she thought, but the mention of Batman hit her out of nowhere. Did Gus know? Or was it just a normal childish fantasy? The woman's step forward brought Iris' attention back to her, and she tracked her all the way around the room, body slight but well-centered now in the doorway and fingers clenched around the trim of it.
"Borrow the clothes, I don't care. But leave him here." Her eyes shifted just enough to indicate the boy in the woman's arms. She didn't believe for a second that the woman was taking Gus to see Wren, not when it was the first she'd heard of such a plan. It would have been something she would have helped with if Luke had brought it up, but no. Not like this.
Finch's bark caused Iris to jump slightly, startled by the sound, and then the Emergency Broadcast Signal started up from the television in the living room. It was faint enough not to overwhelm the apartment, but it cut through insistently, the voice that followed beginning to tell of the ice and then the destruction caused by some sort of creature. That, combined with the woman in front of her mentioning the doors, caused Iris' eyes to narrow. She didn't answer the question as her brain worked overtime to figure out what was going on. Alfred did his best to help, but he seemed distant somehow, less present than he usually was. The answer seemed to be right there, staring at her with green eyes, and Iris fought for something that made sense.
Doors. Batman. Kitty cat. No, it couldn't be possible (as someone on the television screamed about a dragon on the Strip). It shouldn't be possible, but... "Selina?"
