Bo was still standing by the door, his leg and his hip killing him but not giving any indication. He watched and he listened, Max was good with the words, he was good with the plans and the doing. Far as he could tell they all had something to offer, but he didn't want to trap anyone either. He wasn't worried about funding - had had money - Max had access to money - everything on that front would be okay. Everything had to be okay and if it wasn't he'd go down with a big fucking KABOOM and take the fucking agency with him at this point.
So no, he wasn't worried about much of anything except thinking that he figured this day had to have come eventually. He'd been a company man, through and through he'd been a company man, but this...This was different. Eventually the company turned on everyone, and as far as he was concerned they'd turned on everyone in this room and he would avenge it whether they were interested or not. That's what his job had been for the past 15 years. Doing the things people couldn't do for themselves, and admittedly, the tables had turned - and maybe it was karma. But fuck karma. Fuck.Karma.
His jaw clenched, he listened and watched faces, he watched Max and Preston, he watched them all really. Wondering what a bunch of displaced idiots like the lot of them could come up with, and he knew it could be great. They had the skills, they had the motive, now all they needed was the gumption. And sometimes that was the hardest part.
"This shit ain't easy," he said finally. "And it ain't going to be just for shits and giggles. But the way I see it, we're out of options. And we know the people we are, and you can only do as much as you can stand to do. Some of us in this room know that better than others. And we're not gonna make anyone do anything, or go anywhere, or sacrifice goats or anything like that. And yes I've been on the other side of this situation more than once. Who knows what all they've accused us of to our colleagues to get to this point. I'm sure I've been fed lines of bullshit since day one, sometimes its not our job to ask questions. But the tables have turned a little, I mean I killed myself on this job for more than two decades. Now it turns out the job is turning on me. And they're going to call it terrorism. Subversion. Going rogue. But maybe its just checks and balances in the end.
You're hearing the spiel, you know whats on the line. Everyone in this room has the right to decide what is best for them," he paused and sighed loudly, "Just remember that there is no 'I' in 'treason'."
