Memories came back, flashes of introspection that told him he hadn't been in this situation before, that people had gone out of their way to avoid being this close to him, but as soon as the thoughts came to him, they were on their way out the window, a flash bang pop then gone.

The way she responded in turn was good in a way that warmed him through and through. Butterflies didn't flutter in his stomach as hard as they had a moment ago, and when her arms wound around his narrow shoulders and then curled around his neck, the lost boy shifted a little closer. One hand against her neck, the other coming down to alight upon her waist, an anchor against the outside world, grounding him here and to her. Her sigh echoed in his ears as he kissed her again, parting only so that he could move his lips to the line of her jaw. There was no need for words here, not in the slightest. Just warm touches and soft sighs and his lips against her neck as he breathed her in and wanted.
