Her words made him smile, although he gave no immediate acknowledgement to her suggestion that prom dresses were strictly scientific probability with mathematical means and medians. He might have just been smiling at the gaggle of cheerleaders below, who did seem to be dressed in similarly patterned dresses of dark satin with plunging backs. Even their hair was identical, or it seemed to be from where Harry stood so far above. A sea of curled updos and glitter-tipped manicures. He was glad that it was dim and that they were a floor above the popular dance floor below. "At least I don't think that anybody can really see us up here," he murmured. He didn't want her to feel embarrassed about standing beside him, although he didn't clarify that. Realizing that it probably wasn't something she wanted to think about or talk about, he turned on her with a fresh grin. It seemed real, even if his eyes seemed a little sad tonight.
"Of course, I will." Harry was always honest, except when he was too much of a coward for honesty. Complimenting her on her dress didn't seem like a daunting task, though.
