Who: Pepper Potts -> Felicia
What: Being an assistant (Narrative)
When: From the end of the party to Thursday evening.
Where: Stark Tower, New York City, Marvel Door -> Passages Hotel
Warnings: None
The days had begun to blend together and she barely even noticed the twenty-four hour mark anymore. Pepper still retained control even as she stepped out and walked back inside to her office, intent on continuing her research as well as managing Mr. Stark's phone calls, appointments, and general business issues that she could take care of. It was a lot of work and, truth be told, she'd been falling asleep at her desk, but that was hardly her biggest concern. The longest she'd been in Las Vegas was for six hours, where she was able to do a good bit of research on a number of people in their world through the door. All of it was added to the pile of information that would be left to Mr. Stark upon his return.
She felt like there was simply too much for her to do in such a short period of time, but if Pepper was anything, it was capable. She thought she was just about done, or as done as she could be before Felicia threw a fit, when the bugs started. She hadn't noticed them until Spider-Man said something, and then she saw the post by Steve R that she connected the dots about afterward. Two members of the Avengers were better than just one, and at least she knew Sif would be a resource. She'd have to keep her eye out for Thor, and there were a few others as well. All of that could wait though. Since Mr. McKellar was otherwise occupied and there wasn't anything she could do to help, Pepper resolved to get him a few bugs to dissect.
Pep found some glass jars and made her way down to the front of Stark Tower. The streets were littered with a number of squashed bugs, so she started with them, scooping up a number of them and depositing them in one of the glass jars. There were still quite a few of them and they seemed rather intent on destroying her shoe. Annoyed, she brushed them off, but a few of them made their way up her arm, eating through her jacket as they went. Her lips pressed together in a thin line as she carefully guided one bug into a glass jar. She twisted the cap on it shut just as more bugs got through her clothes and began to work on her skin. She didn't stop until she had three live bugs for him, along with the jar of smashed ones.
That taken care of, she stood and brushed off the beetles, squashing them with what remained of her shoes. Once she was bug free, she scooped up the jars and, after ensuring that they weren't going to be eat their way out, made her way back into Stark Tower. She made her way up to Mr. Stark's office and left the jars for him, along with a few other things. That taken care of, she slipped off her half eaten shoes and carried them as she walked out of his office. She had a spare pair in her office that she'd switch into before crossing back to Las Vegas.
Felicia felt a little like she'd just woken up after a long nap. Bleary eyed and obviously tired, she made her way out of the hotel and called a taxi. She'd come get her car in the morning if she really needed to, but she was far too tired now to drive.
