Draco was a little bit quiet coming out of the woods. He knew what had happened that night, or what would have happened. He would have been killed, and it wasn't sitting well with him. He could have come to that conclusion on his own, but until it was there before his eyes, denial was bliss. The truth is that Harry Potter's existence had changed the world for the better. He had brought people together, motivated them, even unwittingly, and they had fought. The right side had won. Without his boyfriend, the world looked much different indeed.
How did he feel about this? He wasn't sure. He was never good at being grateful, nor was he good at saying thank you. The facts were obvious though, weren't they? His boyfriend was a hero, and in another way, he was very proud of the boy with the scar that he had teased relentlessly. He couldn't deny that he did want to be with him, but what was he supposed to say now. He couldn't have done half the things that Harry did. He didn't feel like they were on equal ground, not at all, and that feeling had not settled in well. Draco's pride was hurt, although he knew that it wasn't Harry's fault or even his own.
As a few days passed, Draco began to want out again, telling the young royal to take him back to the door. It hadn't happened a lot, but today was different. He had seen the message from Harry, and his demands became louder, and more insistent. It was time, and Draco wasn't willing to give up his relationship by ignoring the man anymore. Instead, he was met with another indulgent urge.
About an hour after agreeing to meet, he opened the door with his own key, carrying bags from a muggle store. Although he might have looked like a typical muggle coming in, he was far from it. This was Draco - who had taken himself to a muggle store, and purchased things for the both os them. It was a large move, saying far more than he usually did verbally. He held up his bags proudly. "Look, I brought the best stuff." He went to the table first to set the bags down, looking at Harry through blonde strands.
