Re: Interior hallway
By the time MK showed her pretty face in the hallway, Sam was three beers in and feeling like shit. No one had told her that the booze would speed up the metabolism of the methadone, and that it would bring those horrible fucking withdrawal pains with it. Sure, she buzzed quicker than she normally would have, but it was hardly worth it when she felt like complete fucking ass. Still, seeing her friend made her smile a crooked-warm smile, all gap-tooth and pleased. She had no idea that MK was having abandonment issues with the people she was staying with, but she wouldn't have been surprised to find out about it.
People were shit at being trusted; she knew that. No point counting on anyone but yourself.
"So, baby," she said, giving MK a once over. "You look hot." Because the redhead did. And, yeah, so maybe she should have noticed the signs of pills and drugs on her friend, but she felt like shit, and she didn't notice anything except the guys eyeballing MK from the end of the hall.
"No one's here to drag us home this time" she pointed out unnecessarily, not that she expected Neil to show or anything.
