Val forced herself to take a deep breath, to calm down just a little bit because she felt about ready to explode and that wasn't helping her situation. At all. Another deep breath, this time taken a bit closer to the older man with the best joint around. It wasn't nearly enough to make a difference, not really, but Val was desperate.
So desperate that when the girl offered to ask for some, Val turned and stared. "They won't just give it to you," she stated, though she sounded like she was actually considering it. "You'd need to buy some. How much cash do you have on you?" Val had, unfortunately, put all of her cash in the bank so that she wouldn't have it easy if she faced this sort of temptation. She was beginning to hate herself just as much as everyone else for this stupid, stupid idea.
