Well, it seemed like Bag Shot was getting more visitors today than Bag End, and that gossip would surely make its way around the Shire right quickly. Undoubtedly, word was already beginning to spread of Samwise's strange visitors and it probably wouldn't be long until word reached Mr. Frodo that Sam was keeping guests without telling him. "Ay, a minute!" hollered Sam as he set down his cup politely, then made his way to the door.
His eyes widened with brief surprise as he caught sight of Aragorn standing there. Now, Sam remembered when they'd first met him as a Ranger, and he'd been quite terrifying, to say the least. He only imagined what the other hobbits were saying about Aragorn. Legolas was all right; they all knew Sam's obsession with the elves. But Aragorn was another matter.
Ushering his other companion in quickly, Samwise shut the door behind him with a resound thud. "I'm not surprised that you found us here, Aragorn," muttered Sam as he busied himself in the kitchen with fetching another cup and plate. He didn't even ask if Aragorn wanted a cup of tea, but Samwise knew it was polite for his guests if everyone had the same.
