Samwise looked over at his friend with an expression of surprise, nodding enthusiastically to answer his question. "Of course it's common. We hobbits like to eat quite often, you see. There's first breakfast, then second breakfast, then elevensies, then afternoon tea, then supper, then dinner," Sam remarked, as if that were to explain all the meals of the Shire.
"Da's probably taking tea with Master Frodo, otherwise I'm sure he'd be here now. 'Having tea with a real elf, are you, Samwise? Next thing I know you'll be off gallivanting with that Gandalf.' I'm sure that's what Da would say if he were here, though it's almost better he's not. I'm not entirely sure how I'd explain how I'd met you," Sam rambled off easily enough. He helped himself to some of the sweet biscuits, sipping at his tea calmly. "You elves eat a lot of that fruit bread, don't you?" Sam peered over at Legolas, remembering the bread that had kept him and Frodo alive in the harshness of Mordor.
