Sam, not too concerned yet about changing too many things, smiled happily and motioned forward. "Though, it might be strange a bit if you are...polite like that round the Shire. They're familiar to visitors, but I don't think any of them know what will happen," Sam remarked wisely. "You'll probably see Mr. Frodo, too. I tried to mention the Ring to him, but he didn't remember any of it. Actually, if I remember right, Mr. Bilbo should still have the ring at Bag End. I think he kept it when he took it from that filthy creature Gollum."
Frodo had told Sam how he'd wound up with it, well...Sam had overheard his conversation with Gandalf, and that's how he'd been roped into the whole situation. "Well, come on, then. We've got a bit of a hike, but I make a delicious stew and some really nice tea. You'll maybe get to meet my da, but some days he's quite busy helping out round with Mr. Frodo and all." Using his walking stick, Sam pushed his way through the tall grass, clearly not minding if he was making noise or not.
