"The same thing is happening to Aragorn?" Sam repeated, and suddenly he winced. Elinor, in his mind, was talking suddenly all at once. She seemed overly excited and happy. Legolas was a very nice elf, Sam would admit, but he didn't understand why she was very happy. "Er, yes. You're actually in the Shire now. Before I went on the quest, I'd never left it," admitted Sam, and he indicated the dirt road that was not too far from where they stood. "That's one edge of the Shire, and the forest is another."
Elinor was chattering away in his head, and Sam finally shushed her with a tiny sound, then had the decency to look a bit embarrassed. "Sorry, Legolas, but the nice woman in here..." Sam paused, tapping his forehead delicately, "is quite excited to meet you. She wants me to tell you that her name is Elinor, and she's very happy that you found me here." Sam was frowning a bit, trying to understand things more. Luckily for both him and Legolas, Sam was used to just going with how things worked. He didn't mind going along for the ride, so to speak. "If you'd fancy a cup of tea, I could take you back and fix us something."
