Who: Helena
What: Vexing a Scarecrow
Where: Gotham, random internet cafe
When: Current, after her conversations with Kara and Tim
Warnings/Rating: Hels being her mother's daughter.
Since the first time she'd broken into Dr. Crane's accounts, Helena had been watching them. It'd been harder when she was with Tristan and she could only come through every few days, but with Morgan, she could watch them nearly every day. Dressed down in a hoodie and a pair of jeans, she walked into a random internet cafe, paid in cash, and sat down at one of the computers.
It had taken some willpower not to take every cent after what happened in the Batcave, but she'd bided her time. Waited until they were bloated and used the time wisely to get what she needed in place. After her conversation with Kara, she went to work. They could spend the money on travelling, but in the end, she decided against that. Robin Hood took from the rich and gave to the poor. She and Kara? Not poor. But there were boys and girls homes across the city that could use the money, maybe even the survivors from the camp attack that she'd missed. She could ask Damian.
Plugging her flash card into the keyboard, a few key strokes had transactions going out with different dollar amounts attached, wire transfers to the Caymans, some to bank accounts in Switzerland, some to accounts in Tokyo and Hong Kong and some routed and re-routed back to others in her control. Crane wanted them to know that he could touch them? She could touch back.
Every account was thoroughly stripped until the same content remained in each. One penny. One bad penny.
A few more re-routes and she was done, her own accounts full of Crane's money. It might not be as good as destroying his lab, but she could satisfy herself with making sure he couldn't purchase anything new. Humming to herself, Helena finished up, unplugged the USB card, and bounced out of the cafe.
