What she noticed wasn't that she had changed, but rather that everyone else had vanished. The voices outside, the man beside her and other things. She'd been half asleep on the couch, getting up to find herself in a plain shift rather then the grand costume. Her apartment, in Paris, with her mother - and if she looked in the mirror it was her own face, unmasked and framed by blonde hair beside her. Meg had come through; not Gypsy.
She'd have run about, looking for her mother or some sign but the first few steps made her wobble. It was a foreign feeling, before she saw her hand and registered the present pain in her head. Still hurt, though it could be worse she figured. Oh well. She saw her journal on the counter before reaching for it and glancing at it.

And then the shadowman's jolt came back. Along with the sly voice that suggested 21st century medical care. Meg chewed her lip for a minute, before thinking 'one-moment' back. She found a floor board, lifting out a bag and grabbing all that she needed. Back to the door and Las Vegas.
