Who: Thierry
What: A ride home and a change of alter.
Where: Plane ride home, back to his apartment
When: Tonight
Warnings/Rating: Nothing.
The plane ride home was one of the loneliest things that Thierry had ever experienced. There was this hollow place in his center, a dark hole that had opened up with the sudden absence of his father in his life, and he wasn't sure there was much that could ever attempt to fill it. He had a drink on the plane, something that was horribly overpriced for the few sips he had, but it was something to ease those feelings as the plane took him home.
There was no one at the airport to pick him up, no one there to greet him with a smile at home. It was a lot of loneliness as he turned the lights on and dumped his luggage by the door. He'd leave the shop closed for another day, because there was no way he could face the business feeling as if he did. So Thierry dropped down on his couch, legs stretched out in front of him, the television going with some inane prime time trash that he had very little interest in. But it was some noise to fill the empty space, something that made him feel the tiniest bit less by himself.
A tin of soup later, a bottle of beer found hiding in the back of his fridge, Thierry found himself suddenly with the realisation that that calm voice that had existed for the past weeks was quiet. No. Not just quiet, but gone, and in its place was something else that did not offer a name, did not offer a word of greeting, and something about it made his blood run cold.
Bad things were afoot, he felt.
What else could go wrong?
