The hangover was so horrific that he couldn't even open his eyes. It didn't stop the memories from flickering back, of sitting next to a copy of himself, getting drunk, taking whatever drugs the servers had brought him until he'd passed out. He couldn't remember much more than that, the noise and the color of that diner, the feel of the sticky tabletop below his face. He whimpered into the pillow that was nearly suffocating him, wondering if that would at least take away the headache and the nausea.
And the desire deep in his belly to find some of those things that had let him forget about stuff, just for a moment.
Fuck.
Years gone without the drugs, and now he was craving something again, just because of one night in a magical hotel. He reached out a heavy arm for Evie, hoping that she would be there to talk him through the way she always could, but his fingers only encountered cold sheets where a warm body should be. With a needy sound, he remembered that she'd gone out of town. Just a day to take care of something for the corporation. He'd agreed to it, of course, had decided to stay home since it was such a short period of time, but now he wished he'd gone with her.
It took a while before he thought about Red, to wonder if she had needed to deal with the hotel in any way, and when he nudged at the spot in his mind where she usually was, there was only a murmur of response. Partially, she was simply trying to avoid sharing in his hangover, but there was something off. All Will could get from her was something about girls, and he was too tired to push much more. Beyond the throbbing of his head, his arm ached from where their cut and burn was still healing. Just another thing he wanted to forget. Even though he knew he needed water, something to eat (though the thought made his stomach roll), he didn't move. He kept his eyes closed and forced consciousness (and hopefully the cravings) away.
