Who: Cory and Arthur
What: Reveals!
Warnings: Language? One?
Though it was Cory that was standing there in the center of his bedroom, it was Arthur who pushed his way into waking first. He examined Cory's consciousness as best he could from where he could "feel" it through their indescribable connection, and then he reached, in a way, and pulled. Cory woke up, eyes battering against his skin, heart hammering, and immediately fell over. None of his limbs were working right, and it took Arthur's steadying certainty that what they were feeling now was real to fend off the panic.
Cory fumbled for the book and rolled over on his stained carpet to stare at it. "What does it mean?" he practically shouted at Arthur, eager for someone to blame, so scared of that numb feeling of terror stretched beyond human life that he had to have something to center him, even if it was temporary hatred of Arthur.
"It means we embodied our worst sin. Of the seven, I guess."
Cory threw the book at the wall.
Arthur said, "Can we go to the hotel. Now, please?"
Cory ground his teeth, but it wasn't like he was going to get laid anytime soon, and he had no immediate argument. He said, "I do stuff. I don't just wait until somebody kills me. I wouldn't wait. I'm not angry like that."
"Cory," Arthur said, quietly, "You're one of the angriest people I know."
Arthur didn't say anything more, and Cory tried to fight back tears without success. "Fine," Cory said, dragging his sleeve across his nose and grabbing his car keys. "Get your stupid fuck on then. I don't care. If it's all you can think about."
Arthur had no rebuttal, because, of course, it was true.
