Foyer
He'd just wanted to check things out, this wasn't his scene at all. He wasn't anticipating staying but when he walked in he found himself feeling very small. And alone. He was looking up at all of the bigger people, they were passing him by for the most part. Barely noticing his presence at all. He was dodging between legs, tripping a few people here and there, he was scolded once or twice, but he just looked into faces trying to find a familiar one. There was no one here he knew. And no one here who knew him.
It was a terrible feeling and he hurried across the foyer to an empty chair and climbed up on it. He sat on his knees first looking around with a bit of a higher view. His hand gripped tightly to the back of the chair as he moved to stand on his feet and tried even harder to be noticed. If he was standing on furniture that would surely get him noticed. He was frightened, there were scary people here, and still no one he could claim or who would claim him. He was sure of it.
He was dressed in short pants and a dress shirt with a ridiculous bow tie, it had fallen crooked while he'd run through the crowd. One of his socks was pushed down a bit, and his shoes were scuffed and dirty. Big eyes wandered the room, his ears heard the music and the chatter but as much as he was looking for someone, he didn't see anyone looking for him in return. He wanted to cry, but he was a very big boy and he couldn't do that. As people walked by he would focus on someone who looked nicer than the rest and say "Excuse me," but no one stopped. He thought about hollering, if anything it would get him into a spot of trouble and someone might be able to take him somewhere better than this.
