Re: Stairs to the roof. The shadows. [Belated Swearing warning?]
The Ghost wasn't expecting the blow, which was like getting hit by an unexpected pillow. After hours of not feeling anything, he got whacked upside the head by an overgrown dog. Nice. "Hey!" The Ghost picked up his free hand and whacked the Wolf right back; on the shoulder, because he didn't want to break his head after he'd gone to all this trouble to keep it together. The Ghost was suddenly aware that the Wolf's skin was warm under his hands, and the smell of the blood was abruptly cavity-fresh and sickening. Sensation was back. Yippee.
"Nothing would be better than being nothing." He watched the Wolf's eyelids grow heavy. "You better stay awake, sunshine, everybody knows that when you're injured you stay awake and don't walk into the light. Or is that a concussion?"
