She scoffed, shoulders squaring up as she pressed back against the wall as well, her posture straightening, her chin lifting as she looked across to him in the dim light. She could see how he hid his face against his hands, and she had to wonder if he realized how futile it was.
"You can't hide from yourself. And clearly, there are some that are not disgusted by you as I'm here and not screaming or running for the hills. So do not presume that everyone is as disgusted with you as you are with yourself." She paused, her voice and manner softening several degrees. "You are not horrible."
