The meal she prepared was a simple mix between Western and Eastern. It was a compromise, Yukiko decided. She wasn't quite ready to stomach the greasy American food, but she was taking baby steps in that direction. There were, of course, rice balls along with the American version of French fries. Yukiko had only tried them once during her time with the Japanese police force, when she'd been in such a rush that day she'd only had time to order a quick meal at McDonald's. They'd been pretty delicious, not that she'd ever admit such a thing to her parents. They'd die if they ever learned their precious Yukiko had dared to venture to Mcdonald's. In Tokyo, at least, it was fairly common. She'd found the restaurant on the coast of Yokohama and had sat out by the sea side, watching the ships come in during her lunch break. The bullet train had been a lovely way to get out of the busy life in Tokyo, even for a few hours.
Aside from the rice balls and French fries, Yukiko had made her own sushi of different flavors. Some were vegetable while others had meat in them. She'd even added some seemingly American vegetables to the mix too: small pieces of corn along with tomatoes. She took one of the boxes out and pushed it towards Lin, offering it without a word along with a pair of chopsticks that shockingly had an Eagle design on the top of it.
"Bunny slippers, hmm? I'll have to buy them as soon as I get a paycheck, then. I'm afraid I didn't calculate that into the funds I'd need to travel here." She was grinning, then motioned to the pair of chopsticks she'd passed over. "Though, it seems I'm more American than you are right now. That pair was specially purchased with you in mind." She winked, waiting for him to start eating before she'd set up the game system.
