Leonard smiled a bit, then signaled the driver to stop the car so that they could get out. He put in their table, letting the Japanese roll off his tongue easily. Leonard waited until he was seated before he turned back to Andrew to answer the question.
"She was there when my parents were not," Leonard remarked softly. "I'm sure you think it's because I loved her. She was...all the family I had, really. My own mum and father were far too busy with their own lives to worry over me much, save for me helping them improve their lives. I just want to know why she left, and so suddenly."
Leonard wasn't about to become that personal with Andrew. He hadn't had many friends growing up. Elizabeth really had been his only friend through most of it, and then she'd just up and left him. Was it really him? Did people just want to stay away for whatever reason? Leonard didn't know what it was about him that made people want to stay away, but he knew that he wasn't happy about it now.
