"I think I have managed alright considering," he answered evenly. "Sera's continual disappearances are a bit disturbing. If we were to marry, this simply cannot happen. I do need to decide what to do regarding that relationship, but I no longer see it working out in the way that it should." There was more to it, but he wasn't willing to elaborate as yet.
"If you don't mind my asking, what keeps you here? I know that you like it, but is there more to it. This town is full of miscreants. It's bloody filthy. We continue to stay." He motioned for Leonard to lead them to their destination, or a car. Really he was up for anything.
