The first vision that crept into the depths of her mind was enough to cause nightmares. She watched with wide, startled eyes, unable to pry her gaze away from the scene in front of her. It was horrifying. There was no other word that she could think of to explain whatever she'd just seen.
What was it? It didn't feel the same as a dream. What could it possibly be? It was no dream of hers, and she couldn't remember ever reading a book or seeing a television show similar to this...monstrous thing.
Still. As she sat up, shaking and trembling in her bed, Mingmei almost felt a sense of pity for whatever she'd just witnessed. Whatever, or whomever it was, didn't seem to be in control of their need. A creature of the night? She wasn't superstitious, but she didn't necessarily believe in vampires. The Twilight craze that had went through the world had fallen on deaf ears for this bright young girl. But as she kept watching, she knew that's what she was seeing. A vampire.
So what was it? She shivered, and without warning felt the urge to throw up whatever she'd had for breakfast that morning. It came on quickly. Her stomach growled and churned and her throat felt thick and raw. She stumbled on shaky legs towards the bathroom, sicking up whatever her stomach had to offer. The strange, metallic taste of blood was still in her mouth as Mingmei sank to the ground. Whose dream was this? It wasn't hers. It didn't feel like it was something of her mind.
