Tony managed to return before Silver. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. He was completely serious, Silver knew, and that alone was an indicator of how dire the situation was.
Silver heaved himself up, unconsciously but desperately trying to make himself calm, remnants of Bruce's experience and not necessarily his own. "As much as we have to," he replied, because that was Silver, and Silver had to believe that they could make it through however many of these experiences came and went.
I can't believe we would blame him like that.
Silver moved quickly to where the phone was lying and then sat again on the floor with the blue glass coming to life in his hand. He didn't want to crack his head open if one of these knocked him down. "I can. If he had done enough damage, killed innocents, you would be forced to make a choice."
We can keep that from happening. Tony was stubborn, and though the unspoken argument about Pepper had not taken place, he was pulling out of Bruce's deep depression.
