He's been gone for some time, lost to death, though the one you love (or loved, you're still not really sure, whatever, not the point) tries to convince you that your mentor, everyone's mentor, is simply lost in time. Yeah, right, okay. But things go on, the world goes on, and you pick up another mantle, assume the identity of another creature of the night.
You've been confronted by him a few times by now, by this man who calls himself the Insider, and who you call Casper. It's a jab at his hi-tech suit, the one that let him turn invisible when you confronted him at the Waynetech facility. One that blasted you with the powers of another hero. You escape that time, and you're convinced that you need to find him again. To finish off what's already started.
Finally, you find him again, and you're confused why he can figure everything out so easily. Why can he predict every little thing? But when he unmasks, it all makes sense. Bruce. He explains that everything had been a test, that he was impressed, that he was proud, but you don't let him finish. You're sick of having to prove yourself, of having to make him proud, of trying to make everyone think you're worthy. Your hand raises up, and you slap him across the face, and as your hand stings from the force of the contact, you regret it immediately. Freaking out, you run away because you just slapped Bruce Wayne. But, then again, you don't completely regret it. Batgirl is something for you. They all need to remember this.
