Who: Mingmei and Kitane Where: Lunch together, meeting first at The Wynn (I can totally change this, just made logical sense!) When: Wednesday, July 11 around midday What: Two new friends meet to spend more time together! Status: Incomplete/Threaded Rating: Probably low
Mingmei was not shy, and that was an understatement of the year. She'd eagerly agreed to a lunch with her new friend and is currently curious about learning more about the other girl. Well, Mingmei was curious in general. It was her open-mindedness and curiosity that had kept her parents from trying to find her a suitable husband back in China. It was her ability to do well in school that had prompted them to choose Mingmei to be the child who they would pay for higher education. They'd assisted her with the move to America, but now it was up to Mingmei to pay her own way once she was here.
It could be lonely sometimes without her family nearby. Sure, the internet was a wonderful thing and an easy way to chat with her family back home, but even that wasn't the same. Her English was improving quickly, or so she believed. It was becoming easier and easier to converse with those around her and she was excited when she made a new friend. Kitane was one of those genuinely nice people that Mingmei enjoyed spending time with. She'd reasoned the easiest place to meet her friend was near where she usually could be found, and she showed up randomly around lunch time. She'd informed the receptionist at The Wynn that she was looking for Kitane, and barely thought about the fact that they hadn't really made much of a plan. For Mingmei, this was a normal thing, and she had reasoned that it was easier to come to her friend rather than having Kitane find her in the busy university.
