Who: Kitane and Nikolai What: A random chance encounter Where: Turnberry Towers When: Recent Warnings/Rating: Language is very possible, but should be pretty tame otherwise.
Normally a very happy girl, Kitane was having the no good, very bad day from the pits of hell. At least it was hot enough for it outside, but it had all started when Viserion, her neat, clean, very tidy Viserion got into something and promptly puked all over her shoes when she'd been coming out of the shower. The rest of the morning had been spent fawning over him, but he'd been all too happy to eat the can of tuna she provided him with. A call to the vet later, they assured her that unless he threw up something else, or blood, or wouldn't eat, or couldn't use the litter box, and acted normally he was probably okay.
She'd finally left the penthouse around noon, after Viserion kept the can of food down (with much snuggling and kissing involved) and was happily purring away in a sunny spot on the floor. He was such a rotten cat.
Her day had been looking up until she arrived at the library to enroll for her ESL classes. She hadn't gotten a high enough score on her placement test, which meant they wanted her to have additional tutoring. She signed up for it, heart heavy, and checked out the books they wanted her to read. They were all smaller than the thick book that Theo was reading. That book was huge and she'd tried reading it several times, but all the words gave her a headache and she usually had to stop after fifteen minutes.
None of the books she had to check out of the library looked nearly as interesting as that one. Her light dimmed, she'd dutifully put the books in her satchel and made her way home. It could have been better, but she was on the bus when her phone battery had died.
It was an awful day. She entered the Towers without bothering to wave at Carl Manager Man and made straight for the elevators. Maybe she'd eat some of Theo's chocolate that was on top of the refrigerator once she got home. If today wasn't going to get better, at least she could have something sweet.
