Re: [Theo/Kitane] Bartolotta
"Oh, decorative sharks. Of course," Theo replied, amusement coloring just about everything in his expression. It wouldn't have been too out of the ordinary for her to suggest that he put actual sharks in the man-made pool. He was glad that she meant the smaller ones but it still wasn't something added to the atmosphere. She was more than welcome to suggest it to the restaurant host and Theo would be sure to have her do that when he was present. He didn't want to miss the look on Millie's face.
He couldn't tell immediately that she didn't understand what he was doing. It wasn't until she waited for him to take a sip of his wine before doing the same herself that he realized she might not understand. "It's a kind of quiet celebration that's done sometimes during formal dinners. I think three months is a bit of an accomplishment," he replied gently, explaining without patronizing. At least, that had been his intention. He smiled once more when she took another sip before putting the glass back on the table.
"It tends to pair well with fish, which is why I requested it. I'm glad you enjoy it more than the whiskey." He paused there, wondering what else she might want to try. Anything in his liquor cabinet, she was more than welcome to, and the same went for the wine rack in the kitchen. He just tended to favor the whiskey because it didn't leave him with too bad of a hang over and it quashed any sort of physical signs of his arousal. An added benefit was that it let him sleep without dreaming. He was aware that he'd been drinking more but it was his hope that now that things were calming down with Kitane, so would his drinking.
The waitress came with their appetizers and Theo gave her a quiet thanks before tucking in. The spaghetti was delicious, as expected, but he wanted to see what she thought of the risotto. It wasn't something she'd had with him at least and he knew she'd enjoy the fish at the very least. "Well? What do you think?" She wasn't a picky eater by any means and for that he was grateful.
