God dammit! That was rule number two. Right after don't touch my stuff. A few days ago is a few days ago too long for me not to be aware of this - I have to find a way to be in two places at once or both of our asses are on the line and I'm pretty sure me telling my boss "Oh sorry had to be Nightwing" isn't going to accomplish anything except a CT Scan.

Don't lose your mind, everyone through my door is doing enough of that. Toxin would be accurate for my side, crazy Batman went crazy. Dick went to Metropolis to try and convince the good citizens of Gotham City that their dark knight was being impersonated and the real Batman was in Metropolis fighting crime there for a minute. Do you know how hard it was to find Batman worthy crime in Metropolis?

Anyway, I got sent back home, I don't know what's happening there now - but it's safe to say nothing great. And Dick isn't exactly an expert right now. He's dealing with a different set than he's used to.

Do you want to tell me why any of that matters?

Full disclosure? [Because desperate times.] Corvus, your protege, got injected with some toxin when he was over there. He's got your - our - door. He went nuts, and I chased him in, but I have no idea what happened while I was there. Nothing. The silent woman in my head won't tell me anything. I went back in, but still nothing. And Batman is family, not there, here, and I have a really bad feeling based on the blood on my clothes when I came back through - none of which was mine, Davis.

We're going through together next time and getting to the bottom of that, so don't worry on that front. I'll let the Boy Wonder figure it out for all of us.

So Batman is family for on this side, family for me on the other side, this is more fun than ever. So are we thinking we should go find Batman? Or are we thinking we should stay here and try and find the other one? Please say Batman.

Ra's has returned. He will cleanse Gotham. Your Bat is weak. He allowed himself to become infected by a weak man. What man trained by the League falls prey to one like Jonathan Crane? Does he not learn? And Jason Todd, the one called Red Hood, he is dead. I have spilled his blood with my own sword and watched the life leave his eyes. The Bat's child could not stop me. He too is weak. He could not control the problem that the Bat created with his own weakness. You may tell Richard these things. I allowed the Bat to live once, for him. But that reprieve, it is over.

What has happened is that your Bat is weak. Your Gotham is corrupt. The Bat's birds turn traitors because he does not trust them, and who wishes to be loyal to someone who treats them like the dirt under his feet? You may tell Richard that whether he thinks this is his Gotham or not, it is where he is now, and it is going to fall.

As for the one called Hood, I allowed the Bat's son to try to fix matters first. He did not. I am not afraid of the hard choices. It is good that someone should be willing to do what must be done in such circumstances. I would not have thought of it, had it not been tasked to the woman I inhabit in the desert. You may blame her for setting me down this course, should you require blame.

Now, I leave you. Tell Richard he is no longer a child. I expect better from the acrobat now.

[And pause, crackle, and the sound of breathing after Max crosses back through and waits for him to tell her what the hell happened.]

Max I'm going need you to get me - or at least help me put together a list of everyone you can identify from that side of the door. I know people are finicky about it, but we need to know who is over there and who is over here. Because she might not be talking to you, or letting you listen to her - but she sure as hell is listening to you. And she knows who the both of us are, she knows who you know and she knows what we do.

She said she killed someone over there - Anyone you know of that didn't come back?
