Who: Brooke and Rodolphus. Where: Her room. When: After they speak on the journals. Why: She's his future niece with lots of information he could use. Open: No. Status: Incomplete.
Rodolphus was curious to say the least, he wanted to know if this Brooke was his brothers daughter, from the future. He knew that Brooke was Rabastan’s favourite name- even though it was a body of water- his brother had an obsession with water- the beauty of water. He smiled to himself as he strode up the stairs and knocked on the door, “Brooke” He called, this would be very hard for her- and somehow Rodolphus already felt very protective of her- whether it was the fact that she was family or the knowledge of the future she had- he wouldn’t clarify.
Brooke opened the door and her eyes widened- this looked like the photos her father had of her Uncle when he was younger- “Who-?” Her eyes stayed wide and her mouth hung open- she was obviously confused.
Rodolphus stopped still and admired her, she was beautiful like their mother had been; with Rabastans aesthetic beauty- the gorgeous Lestrange eyes and the flawless complexion. He smiled, she also looked a lot like Alecto. “Your Uncle” He stated.
“But-” She was visibly confused and found this very very odd. “You’re meant to be like 50! Not, 20” She stated bluntly- she never knew how old her favourite Uncle wa exactly, he’d never disclosed his age to her and her Father refused to, as well.
“21, but you’re close enough” He smiled, he had a warm look in his eyes showing that he cared. “I think perhaps we should talk.” He stated, stepping closer to her and then into the room- Amycus wasn’t there- thank god- that would make this so much worse.
Brooke nodded, a little dumbly- this was very weird. “I’m guessing you don’t even know I exist.” She stated, looking a bit sad. She watched him walk in and followed him closing the door- to not exist in the life of her absolute Favourite uncle was a little heart breaking.
“My dear, I didn’t even know your parents were together” He stated, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear and kissing her forehead. To anyone else they’d look like lovers, but he wanted to provide her with comfort.
Brooke leaned against his chest as tears fell- “Is Dad or Mum here?” She asked, a little more than scared and feeling very overwhelmed.
Rodolphus wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on the top of her head. “Yes, but they are both Younger than me” He stated- knowing that she’d understand that they wouldn’t know her either.
“It’s like I don’t even exist” She stated, sobbing a little. This was a horrible feeling, her own parents wouldn‘t even know who she was- she was in a horrible place and she couldn’t get out of here.
“Brooke-” He started, but was cut off.
“Boo” She stated, he’d always called her Boo- she was the only one he’d ever called by their nickname. She looked up at him- her eyes showing she was scared.
“Boo” He corrected himself, “You should know your father well enough to realise that even when he finds out about you being his daughter, even if he doesn’t actually know you- he will love you, like he does- My brother, he seems like someone who doesn’t understand love to the full extent but he does” He stated, smiling. He touched her cheek softly- “He will always love you.”
And that was why Brooke loved her Uncle; He was always the voice of reason and a source of comfort, especially when no one expected it from such a hard man. Brooke smiled up at him, thankful for him being so understanding and loving of her, even when he was young and had only met her physically a couple of minutes ago.
Rodolphus smiled at her as he moved to sit down on the bed. “Are you okay?” He asked, worried. He found it weird that he felt so connected to this young girl- but he did indeed feel protective and paternal love for her. “Yeah” She stated, sitting on the bed opposite, “So the guy that was in here.. That’s actually Uncle Amycus?” She asked, eyes wide.
Rodolphus nodded, amused- he was actually smiling at her. She looked and acted so much like her parents were.
“Are Dad and Mum… here?” She asked not entirely sure she wanted the answer, she cracked her knuckles- much like her father did when he was worried or stressed; Boo was pretty much Rabastan in female form with a lot of her Mothers characteristics.
“Both, but Amycus doesn’t know they are an item” Rodolphus warned, Amycus would simply have to accept the inevitable but still things were bound to blow up before they got better.
